Hellofresh reports doubled sales and profit in the millions

Thanks to the Corona pandemic, the Berlin-based cooking box delivery service is reporting record numbers for 2020, but how long-term the boom is remains in question.

Cooking box mail order company Hellofresh has presented its financial figures for the past year. Unsurprisingly, the company benefited from the Corona pandemic and presented strong results.

The Berlin-based company increased its sales to 3.75 billion euros, up 111 percent. The fourth quarter alone accounted for 1.1 billion euros of that, making it the strongest in the company's history. The pre-tax profit in 2020 was 395.8 million euros. In the previous year, Hellofresh had still made a loss of 5.3 million.

The share price of the MDax company nevertheless fell by several percent on Tuesday, as investors are apparently unsure whether the good performance will continue in view of a possible slowdown of the pandemic in the course of the year. The share price has already tripled since the outbreak of the health crisis, with one Hellofresh share currently trading at just over 64 euros.
