Konvi raises $900,000

Instead of investing in shares, Konvi wants to enable small investors to invest in rare wine and watches. Now, the start-up has convinced renowned investors of its concept.
Investment start-up Konvi has received $900,000 in its pre-seed funding round, the company announced. Current investors include early-stage VC APX and well-known business angels such as Claire Valoti (Director EMEA, Snap Inc), Christoph Röttele (former CEO of Check24) and former Shopify executives.
The founding trio consisting of Ioana Surdu-Bob, Lena Sonnen and Eran Peer founded Konvi 2020. The founders operate a crowdinvestment platform for alternative asset classes. The platform aims to make investing in rare collectibles possible even for small investors. Alternative investments would be particularly important in the face of volatile financial markets, the startup says.
The founders plan to expand the investment options on the platform in the near future. For example, it should also be possible to invest in art, collector cars, handbags and NFTs. "When you think about how many different physical asset classes this can be extended to, not to mention virtual assets (NFTs), the potential market size is incredibly exciting," Valoti says of the startup.
