Konvi raises $900,000

Investing in rare wines and watches instead of shares - Konvi wants to make this possible for small investors too. The start-up has now convinced well-known investors of its concept.
The investment start-up Konvi has received 900,000 US dollars in its pre-seed financing round, as the company announced. Current investors include the early-stage VC APX and well-known business angels such as Claire Valoti (Director EMEA, Snap Inc), Christoph Röttele (former CEO of Check24) and former Shopify executives.
The founding trio consisting of Ioana Surdu-Bob, Lena Sonnen and Eran Peer founded Konvi in 2020. The founders operate a crowdinvestment platform for alternative asset classes. The platform aims to make investing in rare collector's items possible for small investors too. According to the start-up, alternative investments are particularly important in the face of volatile financial markets.
The founders are planning to expand the investment opportunities on the platform in the near future. For example, it should also be possible to invest in art, collector's cars, handbags and NFTs. "When you consider how many different physical asset classes this can be extended to, not to mention virtual assets (NFTs), the potential market size is incredibly exciting," says Valoti about the start-up.
