The healthtech made a good market start in January with its app Edera. The start-up wants to invest the capital from the new financing round in further digital therapies for men's diseases.

Kranus Health has closed a $6.5 million Series A funding round. French investor Karista led the round, while Austrian family office Peak Pride and existing investors High-Tech Gründerfonds and A Round Capital also participated. Additional capital came from Saarbrücker21, Anvil co-founder Ehsan Khaljani and Atai Life Sciences founder and CEO Florian Brand. As part of the funding round, the healthtech's total valuation increased to eight million US dollars.

Kranus Health specializes in digital men's health. In January, the startup launched the app "Edera," which helps men treat erection problems. The app is recognized as a digital health app and approved as a fully reimbursable therapy by the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices. Edera thereby offers a personalized twelve-week plan that combines pelvic floor training with cardiovascular exercises, sex therapy and mindfulness exercises. Kurt Miller, former head of urology at Berlin's Charité hospital, founded the start-up together with Jens Nörtershäuser and Thilo Kleinschmidt.

"We are investing the money in expanding sales in Germany to reach as many patients as possible with our therapy, in research in male tech and in the development of further therapies for men's sexual health," says Kranus Health founder and CEO Nörtershäuser. Plans include a study on the effectiveness of the Edera app at Münster University Hospital. By the end of the year, the start-up would also like to double the number of its employees.
