Livebuy raises five million euros

The company wants to bring teleshopping into the smartphone age and offers retailers their own live video shopping channels for this purpose.

The Berlin-based start-up Livebuy has successfully completed a seed financing round. In the process, the provider of live video shopping was able to raise five million euros. Venture capital firm RTP Global is leading the round. There are also other business angels involved, including Github co-founder Scott Chacon, Berlin-based angel syndicate Mavericks Founders and former Sony Music CEO Philip Ginthör. Livebuy plans to use the money to further develop its software offering, expand its service offering to customers and expand into other European markets.

"It's been an incredible first year for Livebuy, with strong momentum from the start," said CEO and co-founder of Livebuy Alex von Harsdorf. Galina Chifina, Partner at RTP Global, is a firm believer in Livebuy. She states, "We strongly believe in the next generation of e-commerce players and see an exciting future in live shopping, especially in the European market."

Alex von Harsdorf, Bertold Harmath and Armin Gattung founded Livebuy in 2020 during the pandemic. The company's goal is to bring teleshopping into the smartphone age. The company's technology allows retailers, brand owners and online marketplaces to launch live video shopping channels on their own websites. Customers include beauty company Douglas, electronics retailer Mediamarktsaturn and discount chain Lidl. International celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba also use the so-called Livebuy Creator app, according to the company.
