Livebuy raises five million euros

The company wants to bring teleshopping into the smartphone age and offers retailers their own live video shopping channels.

The Berlin-based start-up Livebuy has successfully completed a seed financing round. The provider of live video shopping was able to raise five million euros. The venture capital company RTP Global is leading the round. Other business angels are also involved, including the co-founder of Github Scott Chacon, the Berlin-based angel syndicate Mavericks Founders and the former CEO of Sony Music Philip Ginthör. Livebuy wants to use the money to further develop its software offering, expand its service offering for customers and expand into other European markets.

"It has been an incredible first year for Livebuy, where we have built strong momentum right from the start," says CEO and co-founder of Livebuy Alex von Harsdorf. Galina Chifina, Partner at RTP Global, is convinced by Livebuy. She explains: "We firmly believe in the next generation of e-commerce providers and see an exciting future in live shopping, especially in the European market."

Alex von Harsdorf, Bertold Harmath and Armin Gattung founded Livebuy in 2020 during the pandemic. The company's aim is to bring teleshopping into the smartphone age. The company's technology enables retailers, brand manufacturers and online marketplaces to launch live video shopping channels on their own websites. Customers include the beauty company Douglas, electronics retailer Mediamarktsaturn and discount chain Lidl. According to the company, international celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba also use the Livebuy Creator app.
