The corporate credit card start-up will receive a seven-figure sum. Commerzbank is also among the investors.

Fintech Pliant receives €5.5 million in a funding round. Among the investors is Carsten Maschmeyer's investment company Alstin with a reported seven-figure sum, reports Gründerszene. Also participating are Maschmeyer's early-stage VC Seed+Speed, Commerzbank's Main Incubator and Austria-based family office Saber. The company valuation is now said to be eight to nine million euros, writes Capital. Maschmeyer is expected to support the Berlin-based start-up, especially in the difficult sales process.

Pliant offers corporate credit cards with high card limits. The Berlin-based company's new product is a credit card with CO2 compensation for corporate travel; in February, Pliant launched a "Visa Infinite" credit card . Its clients include Auxmoney, Clark and Jung von Matt.

"The founders have a high and long-standing fintech expertise and enormous detailed knowledge of regulatory issues. To fully understand that is elementary to survive in this business," Maschmeyer tells Gründerszene. Pliant wants to put the money into the further development of its products and is aiming for internationalization. Pliant was founded in May 2020 by Fabian Terner and Malte Rau.
