N26 has probably recorded 300 departures since March 2020

No rest at N26: according to a media report, 300 employees have left since the start of the pandemic. The new HR manager is also said to be leaving again.

Things have not been quiet at N26 since the open conflict over the establishment of the works council. According to a report by Finance Forward, around 300 employees have left in the past year, while the company plans to hire 500 new employees by the end of June.

N26 employees have repeatedly criticized the lack of transparency in salaries and high pressure at work, and more employee shares have been issued instead of salary increases in the past year, reports Finance Forward. The company now has a works council.

In total, only around 1,160 employees are said to work for the Berlin start-up, but the company refutes this and points to its collaboration with external partners. In addition, 100 new talents were recruited in January alone, an N26 spokesperson told Finance Forward.

However, it is not only at the level of specialists, but also at management level that withdrawals can be seen time and again: According to information from Finance Forward, Head of HR Diana Styles is leaving after just six months. She only joined N26 from Adidas in October 2020 and now wants to become more active as an investor. Benedikt Dormann, Head of Customer Service, is also leaving with her.

Founder and CEO Valentin Stalf already holds the position of Head of Product on an interim basis, and he also intends to temporarily take over as Head of HR.
