N26 likely to record 300 exits since March 2020

Things haven't been quiet at N26 since the open conflict over the formation of a works council. According to a report by Finance Forward

, about 300 employees have left in the past year, while the company plans to hire 500 new employees by the end of June.

N26 employees repeatedly criticized the lack of transparency in salaries and a high pressure at work, in addition, instead of salary increases, more employee shares were issued last year, Finance Forward

reports. The company now has a works council.

In total, only about 1,160 employees are said to still work for the Berlin-based startup, the company contradicts, pointing to its collaboration with external partners. It also added 100 new talents in January alone, an N26 spokesperson told Finance Forward.

But it's not just at the professional level that retirements continue to be seen, even at the executive level: According to Finance Forward

, head of HR Diana Styles is leaving after just six months. She only came to N26 in October 2020 from Adidas, now she wants to be more active as an investor. Also leaving with her is the head of customer service, Benedikt Dormann.

Founder and CEO Valentin Stalf already holds the position of head of product on an interim basis, and he also plans to temporarily take over as head of human resources.
