N26 apparently cooperates with Bitpanda

According to media reports, Berlin-based Neobank is to cooperate with the Austrian startup to provide its customers with access to cryptocurrencies.

N26 is said to be working with startup Bitpanda to integrate cryptocurrencies into its app, as Finance Forward reported. Back in 2017, Valentin Stalf, N-26 founder, had said in an interview that the startup was considering integrating a bitcoin exchange into the app. So far, however, that has not happened. Some customers are probably already waiting for a corresponding crypto feature.

That could now become possible in cooperation with Bitpanda. The Viennese start-up has been offering its technical infrastructure to other companies as a white-label product for six months.

Eric Demuth, who until recently was also a columnist at Startbase , Paul Klanscheck and Christian Trummer founded Bitpanda in 2014. The founders operate a platform where customers can invest in cryptocurrencies, stocks and precious metals for as little as one euro. The aim is to redefine investing and make it accessible to as many people as possible. The fintech employs over 700 people and says it can boast around three million users on the platform.

When asked by Finance Forward, both companies would neither confirm nor deny whether N26 is really working with Bitpanda. A spokeswoman for N26 apparently only agreed that work was being done with a partner company to bring a corresponding product to market.
