National player Thomas Müller invests in foodtech

Vegan fish sticks, mince and nuggets - Greenforce offers these products in the form of powder for mixing. This has convinced the FC Bayern soccer player.

The start-up Greenforce is getting a prominent investor on board in the form of soccer player Thomas Müller. The company wants to use Müller's investment to grow further and strengthen its research and development center in Munich. The company did not disclose exactly how much the footballer has invested.

"With its philosophy, Greenforce gives each and every one of us the opportunity to consciously conserve our earth's resources and help tackle the challenges of the future," says Müller. A shipment of the vegan products has probably already gone to his teammates, he said.

The company, founded in 2020, sells schnitzels, meatballs and scrambled eggs - but as vegan products consisting of pea protein. Founder Thomas Isermann says he wants to make it easier for customers to switch their consumption. The vegan products would allow "no compromises for the environment or taste." In the online store, most products are sold in powder form. The concept has already convinced other prominent backers. Joko Winterscheidt, for example, is said to have invested in the company as early as 2021.
