New financing for Foodtech Koro

The Berlin-based startup's vegan organic products won over VCs Five Seasons, HV Capital and Partech.

Foodtech Koro raises a double-digit million amount in its current financing round, the company announced. In the process, HV Capital and Five Seasons, an investor specializing in foodtechs, are investing. French VC Partech is also participating in the round. According to Koro, well-known tech entrepreneurs from Delivery Hero, Hellofresh and OMR are also investing in the company. With the newly received funding, the startup plans to accelerate its growth and expand further abroad.

The start-up sells mainly vegan and vegetarian organic snacks and superfoods through its online store and retail partners. Its partners include DM, Rewe, Alnatura and Tegut. Koro focuses on short supply chains, bulk packaging and transparency in the origin of its products. Constantinos Calios and Piran Asci founded the start-up in Berlin in 2014. In the meantime, Koro's product range has grown to 1,250 products. The start-up currently exports its products to 16 European countries.

In addition to the current funding, the company also announces the newly formed Advisory Board. Georg Kofler will be the chairman. "I am thrilled with how much imagination, energy and strategic vision these young founders have used to build their brand and company and am honored to continue to stand by Koro's side," Kofler says, excited about his new position.
