Einstein Industries Ventures wants to invest up to 300 million euros. The focus is particularly on start-ups that rely on satellites.

The new German venture capitalist Einstein Industries Ventures is supporting young space companies with 300 million euros. "Without space, business models of the future will hardly be feasible," said Axel Springer manager Christoph Keese, one of the initiators of the project at the International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) in Berlin.

According to Keese, the information from the satellites' data analysis will be part of the infrastructure in the future. In future, communication via satellites could be used to detect leaks in pipelines from space or to optimize the use of fertilizers in agriculture down to the square metre.

The Bavarian company Isar Aerospace, a manufacturer of small launch vehicles, and the Berlin start-up Liveeo for earth observation are role models for so-called new space start-ups. The focus for investments is on young companies that have already completed several rounds of financing.
