In a significant development for CO2-neutral air travel, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) has confirmed that synthetic kerosene produced in an INERATEC power-to-liquid plant meets the requirements of the ASTM 7566 standard and can be used as JET A1 fuel in aircraft. This progress was achieved in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The synthetic kerosene is produced from CO2 and green hydrogen and meets high quality standards. INERATEC is planning large-scale industrial production in Frankfurt Höchst from 2024 to produce up to 2,500 tons of sustainable e-fuels annually and contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions in aviation.
