Polish legaltech startup Pergamin wins strategic US investor and plans international expansion

Warsaw, September 2024 - Polish startup Pergamin has gained a new strategic investor in OnDean Forward. The investment fund, founded by the creators behind the success of the American legaltech company Relativity, has invested PLN 11 million in Pergamin. This investment will help Pergamin build a leading regional contract management platform and develop into a global provider.

Automation of the contract process

Pergamin is a Polish platform that automates the entire process of creating contracts for medium and large companies. The platform accelerates contract negotiations, optimizes the signature process and increases security in the management of business-critical documents. A special feature of Pergamin is the innovative approach in which the contract acts as a database. This enables seamless integration of contract data with other systems that store information on employees, customers and orders.

Focus on employment contracts

Pergamin is currently focusing in particular on simplifying employment contracts. Manual processes, which are often paper-based, cause annual costs of up to PLN 3 billion for medium-sized and large companies in Poland alone. Pergamin automates and accelerates the signing of contracts and the preparation of all necessary documents, including tax returns and ZUS registrations.

Legaltech has developed rapidly in the US, while in Europe the pace of change is even slower. Pergamin has the potential to fundamentally change this market.

Marcin Wojtczak, co-founder of OnDean Forward,

Founded in 2017, the company already has over 130 paying customers, including well-known names such as Benefit Systems, Bolt, Renault Trucks and Vienna Insurance Group. In total, Pergamin has more than 120,000 registered users and has processed around 400,000 contracts.

Savings for companies and further development

According to Jakub Barwaniec, co-founder and CEO of Pergamin, the platform enables a tenfold acceleration of the process and reduces administrative costs by 75%. It also significantly reduces the workload of HR managers.

With the new financial injection of PLN 11 million, Pergamin will further develop its platform, including functions based on artificial intelligence. At the same time, the company will expand its product development and sales teams to gain a foothold in new markets.
