Platform Group takes over Vivelacar

The Wiesbaden-based conglomerate will hold a majority stake in the car subscription provider from February. Managing Director Mathias R. Albert remains on board.
The Platform Group takes over the car subscription service Vivelacar. As of February, founder Mathias R. Albert will relinquish the majority of his company to the Wiesbaden-based firm. However, Albert will remain on board as both a shareholder and Managing Director.
Vivelacar, founded in Stuttgart in 2019, offers cars on a subscription basis. This is intended to give private and business customers more flexibility and choice. Vivelacar's partners include BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Renault. Thanks to the takeover, Vivelacar now has access to five million customers in Germany alone in one fell swoop, according to Albert.
The Platform Group, which already operates 16 online platforms, now wants to help the start-up expand into further markets and develop its own offering. "With this step, we are strengthening our portfolio with an important future market and can contribute our expertise in e-commerce," says Platform Group CEO Dominik Benner.
