Reaktor Berlin launches Batch 9 with new funding

Reaktor.Berlin is entering its fifth year and opening the application phase for the ninth batch. For the first time, the accelerator program for founding teams will be completely privately funded in the idea phase. A strong signal from the Berlin startup community following the discontinuation of public funding for the Berlin Startup Scholarship (BSS).
Private funding for start-up support in the capital
The background to this is the suspension of BSS funding by the public sector, which was announced in spring. As a result, the operators of Reaktor Berlin have held numerous discussions with entrepreneurs, business angels and investors. The response was clear:"Let's do this together," was the conclusion of many of those involved. This resulted in a new funding model on a private sector basis that opens up new perspectives for ambitious founders in the early stages.
New chapter with expanded subject areas
The new batch program is aimed at pre-seed teams with high potential who want to implement their ideas in Berlin. In addition to traditional fields of technology, the Accelerator is also specifically opening up to start-ups in the areas of Defense & Resilience and Democracy & Freedom for the first time. These are topics that are becoming increasingly important in the current social and geopolitical context.
Team reinforcement and funding secured
Parallel to the reorientation, the Reaktor Berlin team has been strengthened organizationally: Mirco Dragowski has taken on the role of Co-Managing Director, building bridges to the established economy, while Dr. Anna Maria Loffredo is responsible for external impact and conceptual development as Head of Program & Communication.
Funding for the new batch has been secured through new partners from the Berlin business community, including entrepreneurs and investors with a strong regional connection.
The program at a glance
Reaktor Berlin offers a six-month accelerator program for teams in the idea phase based in Berlin. In addition to an individual training program, founders receive financial support of €13,200 per person, access to a coworking space in the center of Berlin and a network of experienced founders, mentors, business angels and VCs. The focus is on know-how transfer, peer-to-peer learning and individual support from the Reaktor team.
