The Munich-based start-up was able to convince new investors with its recyclable reusable packaging.

Recup has raised twelve million euros for the expansion of its reusable system for to-go packaging. Together with existing shareholder Müller Medien, Blueworld.group is also participating. The investment company of serial entrepreneur Sven Schulz Summiteer and GLS Bank are also investing in the company.

"We will use the additional capital to consistently expand our market leadership in the restaurant and delivery service sector and offer our partners and to-go users a comprehensive, sustainable and long-term reusable solution," says Florian Pachaly, co-founder of Recup.

Pachaly founded the start-up in 2016 together with Fabian Eckert. The founders offer recyclable cups and bowls at various outlets. In cafés, restaurants and canteens, customers can borrow and return the reusable packaging for a deposit. The aim of the concept is to abolish disposable packaging and raise awareness of the issue of packaging waste in society. According to the company, it already has 12,000 partners. These include companies such as Shell, Alnatura, Denn's and Aral.
