The Hamburg-based start-up has so far financed itself out of its own pocket. Secjur wants to use the capital to further develop its compliance platform and tap into new markets.

Secjur received prominent support in its seed financing round: Among others, soccer player Mario Götze and racing driver Nico Rosberg invested in the Hamburg-based start-up. Visionaries Club led the round, and Cocoa Ventures, SB21, Topi co-founders Estelle Merle and Charlotte Pallua, and Personio co-founder Ignaz Forstmeier also participated. A total of 5.5 million euros flowed into Secjur.

The start-up by Niklas Hanitsch, Manuel Stahl, Simon Pentzien and Sven Moritz has developed software that automates corporate compliance with the help of artificial intelligence. In doing so, the software covers the areas of data protection, information security, anti-money laundering and whistleblowing. Customers include Mercedes Benz, Samsung, 1Komma5°, Mediamarkt Saturn and Tomorrow Bank. Until now, the founders financed Secjur out of their own pockets. With the capital from the financing round, they want to further develop the platform and open up the German-speaking region as well as other markets.

"Unfortunately, compliance has become a major problem for companies of all sizes because managing it is manual, repetitive and expensive," said Robert Lacher of Visionaries Club. "Secjur solves this problem by automating that very compliance for companies of all sizes, allowing them to manage everything with a single piece of software."
