Sereact secures $5 million

Stuttgart, Germany - Stuttgart-based Sereact announced that it has closed a $5 million seed funding round. The funding was led by Point Nine and Air Street Capital.

In addition to Air Street Capital and Point Nine, other investors also participated in the funding round. These include Alexander Diehl, Oliver Cameron (VP Product at Cruise, co-founder of Voyage), the founders of Proglove and OMA Ventures, Achim Baier and Wolfgang Frank (arconsis), Martin Giese, Michael Achtelik, Jan Stumpf and Daniel Gurdan (founders of Ascending Technologies), and Mostafa Elsayed (CEO and co-founder of Automata).

Sereact has created a user-friendly way to interact with robots by combining large-scale language models and robotics.

Sereact is developing AI-driven software to automate the entire picking process in warehouses and manufacturing plants. Picking accounts for about 55% of a warehouse's costs, and companies are currently facing rising labor costs and growing demand from e-commerce.

Until now, companies looking to automate picking have been forced to work with rigid systems that required long training periods and had difficulty dealing with changing product ranges. Sereact promises a solution that can be implemented within a day and deliver immediate cost savings of up to 77% per pick.

Sereact offers a rapidly deployable solution for demanding industries such as logistics and manufacturing. Their combination of vision transformers and large language models enables efficient configuration and high service levels.

Sereact's latest innovation, PickGPT, combines their patented work in vision with large language models, which also form the basis for ChatGPT. PickGPT is a robotics transformer that enables robots to understand natural language and perceive their environment with higher intelligence and accuracy. This is intended to allow inexperienced users to control the system through a simple chatbot interface.

Sereact combines deep understanding of warehouse operations with technical expertise. They are the first company to put large-scale voice modeling and picking into practice, showing the potential for multiple use cases.

Sereact was founded in 2021 and has since made technological advances including industry-leading picking speeds of 1500 picks per hour, collision-free picking, and fully autonomous object manipulation. The company now serves partners in e-commerce, manufacturing and third-party logistics, including ZenFulfillment, Daimler Truck, Material Bank and Schmalz.

Funds from the seed round will be used to expand Sereact's team and develop and launch PickGPT internationally.
