Sharpist gets celebrity investor

Ex-national player Dennis Aogo joins Berlin-based start-up Sharpist as an investor.
Professional footballer Dennis Aogo has joined Berlin-based start-up Sharpist as an investor. The digital coaching platform is aimed at executives and middle managers who learn from 500 coaches.
"Dennis is a good fit for us because he can bring his coaching experience from top-level sports to the corporate world," co-founder Fabian Niedballa told the Tagesspiegel
. Sharpist was founded in 2018 by Niedballa and Hendrik Schriefer and has so far raised ten million euros from investors. The startup employs 50 people.Aogo played for the national team and clubs such as HSV, Schalke 04 and VFB Stuttgart, among others. He explained his personal motivation for the investment to the Tagesspiegel
: "The coaching period was the most important phase of my life." Because especially in extreme situations of pressure, a coach helped him to deal with it, he said.
