Sphera acquires Riskmethods

The Munich-based SaaS start-up is thus going to the USA. It is not yet known how the brand will continue and how expensive the takeover will be.
The US ESG software company Sphera wants to take over the Munich start-up Riskmethods. A corresponding agreement has been reached, as the Germans announced. Nothing was initially disclosed about the amount of the purchase price.
Heiko Schwarz founded Riskmethods in 2013 together with Rolf Zimmer. The company offers a SaaS solution that enables companies to analyze the risks in their supply chain more efficiently. According to its own information, Riskmethods also relies on AI and machine learning. Sphera now wants to integrate this solution into its own offering, which so far already provides risk management software and programs to analyze a company's ESG performance.
"Their innovative SCRM approach strengthens Sphera's ability to provide a Scope 3 emissions monitoring and reporting solution and supports our mission to create a safer, more sustainable and productive world," Sphera CEO Paul Marushka said in light of the acquisition. Riskmethods CEO Schwarz said they are excited to join the Sphera family.
