traplinked receives 1.8 million euros

The Nuremberg-based tech startup traplinked has closed an extended seed financing round of 1.8 million euros. The funds will be used to expand the open IoT platform for digital pest monitoring, new sales channels and the next product generation. The round was accompanied by the BayStartUP investor network, which has supported the company since its early stages.
Investors include existing backers as well as new partners such as HENDER GmbH, Scholl Venture Partner, D11Z, Bayern Kapital, superangels and business angels such as Katja Ruhnke.
IoT instead of a checkpoint
traplinked is digitizing a previously analogue sector: commercial pest control. Sensor-based traps and detectors can be connected, managed and monitored in real time across all manufacturers via a central platform.
The pest controllers of tomorrow are on the move digitally. Our platform addresses the increasing demands for sustainability, safety and documentation.
Tim Kirchhof, CEO and co-founder of traplinked
Instead of manually checking every checkpoint as before, the system is now only deployed in the event of a report. This would be the case, for example, in the event of motion detection or capture. This saves time, reduces costs and increases operational safety in sensitive areas such as food production, logistics or retail.
Growing demand due to new regulation
From 2026, the law in Germany will severely restrict the use of poisoned bait regardless of infestation. This is a trend that has already begun in many EU countries. The demand for digital, documentable solutions is increasing accordingly.
A special feature of the traplinked system: in addition to its own sensors, devices from other providers can also be integrated. This provides pest controllers and facility managers with an open, customizable solution that can be integrated into existing processes. Users benefit from automatic alarm systems, 24/7 monitoring and a reduced number of on-site inspections. Target markets include food retail, industry, gastronomy and public institutions.
Founding team and new product generation
traplinked was founded in 2019 by Tim Kirchhof, Sergei Khmylov and Moritz Weigert. The founders have expertise in mechanical engineering, software development and start-up operations, including a successful exit.
traplinked solves a real, highly relevant problem - with a scalable, data-based approach
Barbara Dombay, Managing Director of BayStartUP
The new capital will be used to launch a new version of the camera-based monitoring system TOM at the end of 2025.
This industry is system-critical - and at the same time extremely in need of innovation. traplinked brings both together.
Business angel Katja Ruhnke
Bayern Kapital and other investors also emphasize the importance of digitalized, regulatory-compliant pest control. With the new financing and tailwind from legal developments, traplinked is positioning itself as a key player in the digital transformation of pest control.
