The startup, which aims to predict battery life, is among the 100 cleanest companies in the world, according to a ranking by San Francisco-based Cleantech Group.

Twaice is included in the list of the world's 100 most promising cleantech companies for the first time, while also being named Company of the Year in Europe. The start-up, also based in Munich, offers battery analysis software that can predict the aging and lifespan of lithium-ion batteries. Car manufacturers such as Audi are already using the service. Founded in 2018, the startup is making single-digit million-dollar sales so far.

The San Francisco-based Cleantech Group annually recognizes companies that are making a difference in clean technology and are committed to sustainable growth. "We were particularly impressed by the successful funding round in March and the partnership with Munich Re to insure performance guarantees for Li-ion batteries for the first time based on Twaice's monitoring and analytics," said Richard Youngman, CEO of Cleantech Group.
