Ubimaster raises 2.5 million euros

The start-up offers tutoring for pupils in various subjects as a flat rate. Now the American venture capitalist Owl Ventures is getting on board.
The Munich-based start-up Ubimaster has completed its first financing round of 2.5 million euros. The lead investor is the American venture capitalist Owl Ventures. Auxxo and two business angels from Encourageventures are also participating. The start-up plans to use the new capital to expand its team and better adapt the tutoring platform to the needs of its customers.
"Ubimaster gives all children - regardless of their social background - tailor-made access to extracurricular education," says founder Jana Krotsch. Founded in 2019, the start-up offers a tutoring platform that pupils and trainees can use to contact tutors. Since it was founded, 10,000 pupils have used the platform, 75% of whom have improved their grades. The start-up also offers the platform to companies, which can integrate the application into their employee benefit programs. This would allow employers to relieve their employees with children.
Bettine Schmitz from Auxxo Invest wants to encourage the start-up to "think big" and take the next steps. "If, as in the case of Ubimaster, we can also add value to society and improve opportunities for equal education, then it's a win-win situation for everyone," says Schmitz.
