Vialytics receives over ten million US dollars

The start-up offers municipalities a road management system. Thanks to the money, it should now be able to convince more international municipalities.
AI solutions are everywhere. Stuttgart-based startup Vialytics is applying them to road management - and has now been able to raise a lot of capital for it: The company has landed over ten million US dollars. It received the money as part of a Series A round. It was led by venture capital investor Scania Growth Capital. In addition, existing investors EnBW New Ventures and Statkraft Ventures contributed money.
"The system fits perfectly with our focus on mobility and AI solutions," says Christian Zeuchner, partner at Scania Growth Capital. "Municipalities are ready for the digital age and Vialytics has proven that the GovTech market is extremely attractive."
The startup has developed an AI-powered road management system for cities and municipalities. According to the company, it automatically collects and analyzes condition data needed for regular road maintenance and upkeep. Traffic safety can thus be better ensured, it said. The collected data could be processed across agencies and rehabilitation measures could be planned effectively.
Vialytics states that 250 partner municipalities in Germany, 50 more in France and some in Austria, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Switzerland are working with the software. With the capital, the company now wants to expand into the U.S. market, among other markets. The company's hope is that the U.S. government will provide more than 100 billion U.S. dollars for road rehabilitation. The number of employees, currently 60, is also to be doubled in the next two years.
