DeepDrive, a high-tech company headquartered in Munich, is developing groundbreaking drive units for electric vehicles. By utilising their patented dual-rotor motor topology, DeepDrive addresses two major challenges faced by electric vehicles: limited range and higher costs compared to traditional combustion engines. At the heart of DeepDrive is their patented Dual Rotor, Radial Flux Machine which is a technological leap in the electric drive unit. Their drive units can be integrated within the wheels or as a traditional central drive and come with the following advantages:

The patented DeepDrive Dual Rotor, Radial Flux Machine combines an inner and outer rotor with two air gaps and profits from highest material utilisation and lowest iron losses. It captivates through a revolutionary distributed winding concept – the key enabler for the Dual Rotor concept. In combination with an integrated SiC MOSFET inverter, the DeepDrive drive units deliver highest system efficiencies of above 98%.

DeepDrive's journey began with a serendipitous fusion of two worlds - the boundless enthusiasm and wild spirit from the founder’s student days at TU Munich’s motorsport team and the profound expertise honed during years of experience at leading automotive companies. Six of the seven founders first crossed paths over a decade ago as members of the TU Munich’s TUfast Racing Team, where they collaborated on building electric race cars and competed globally in Formula Student events. Their passion for innovation and performance laid the foundation for DeepDrive's pioneering spirit.

After their studies they went into the automotive industry. This is where they encountered now co-founder Dr.-Ing. Alexander Rosen. With his extensive research background and expertise in electric machines, he added another critical dimension to the team.
