The Munich-based mobility startup Mobility Signage has completed pre-seed financing in the amount of 1.8 million euros. The lead investor is High-Tech Gründerfonds, with 2bX also participating. The capital will be used to expand the team and further develop the data hub and application layer.

Centralized data architecture instead of fragmented systems

Many transport companies are struggling with historically evolved IT landscapes consisting of numerous individual solutions. At the same time, the requirements for real-time information and a consistent user experience are increasing.

Our goal: to connect fragmented IT landscapes and create a reliable database for real-time information - without companies having to replace their existing systems.

Dominik Nouri, Co-Founder Mobility Signage

This is exactly where Mobility Signage comes in: The platform connects existing systems via a central data architecture without having to replace them. Data flows are structured, interfaces are standardized and information is synchronized across channels.

Standardized real-time information for passengers

The solution enables consistent information across different output channels - from digital display boards to apps and announcements. The aim is to significantly improve the quality and reliability of passenger information.

First customers: major transport companies in Germany

The platform is already being used by several transport companies, including Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen, Deutsche Bahn and Rostocker Straßenbahn AG. The broad customer base shows that the solution is scalable for both small and large operators.

Public transport companies are struggling with a shortage of skilled workers, outdated IT systems and rising passenger numbers. Mobility Signage addresses precisely these pain points with a modular, AI-native solution

Tizian Hoppen, Senior Investment Manager at HTGF

In the long term, Mobility Signage is developing a kind of operating system for local public transport. The first modules are already automating processes such as construction site communication and incident management in real time.

Growing market for intelligent transportation systems

The market for intelligent transportation systems is growing dynamically and is estimated to be worth around USD 66 billion worldwide. In Europe, bus and streetcar systems account for a significant share.

Mobility Signage is positioning itself in this environment as an integration layer for existing infrastructures - with the aim of reducing complexity and accelerating digitalization in public transport.
