750 million US dollars for SpaceX

Elon Musk's space start-up is now worth almost 140 billion US dollars. The money will probably also be used to push ahead with the development of his own spaceship.

Things are not going well for the multi-entrepreneur Elon Musk at Tesla and Twitter at the moment, but his rocket start-up SpaceX seems to be on course. According to media reports, the company has raised $750 million. The round is led by Silicon Valley major investor Andreessen Horowitz. The company's valuation is expected to rise to $137 billion with this round.

Last year, SpaceX had already raised around two billion US dollars. With its Falcon rocket, the company has achieved a total of 60 rocket launches, and its own satellite Internet service, Starlink, has reached the one million subscriber mark.

Problematic recently were the geopolitical statements of majority owner Musk did not help, allegedly Nasa officials were concerned about these statements. However, unlike other Musk companies, SpaceX has a COO, Gwynne Shotwell, who has taken over day-to-day operations from the erratic founder.
