Air up receives 40 million euros
Jan Schulte | 20.09.2021The Munich-based start-up has received money from its existing shareholders as part of a financing round.
First the agency Jung von Matt awarded Air up as the strongest start-up brand in Germany, now the young company can apparently announce the conclusion of a financing round. According to media reports, Air up has received 40 million euros from its existing shareholders. The round is led by VC Seasons Ventures. Beverage company Pepsico and media company Ippen as well as Oyster Bay also gave money again.
Air up makes beverage bottles with attachments that emit an aroma. Sucking on the silicone attachment creates suction, which transports not only the water but also air from outside through the aroma pod into the mouth. This allows users to perceive different flavors such as "Vivid Orange" or "Rose Blush" - without having to sugar the water itself.
The start-up already successfully completed a financing round at the beginning of the year. At that time, it received 18 million euros. Three years ago, Frank Thelen and Ralf Dümmel had also invested in the start-up - outside of the show "Die Höhle der Löwen", where both sit on the jury.
