Airtango raises more than one million euros

The start-up Airtango makes money with a live stream that it broadcasts to gyms and other locations. Now it has money from investors.
The idea behind Airtango actually sounds pretty simple: the company, which was founded in Cralsheim, produces videos and live content and broadcasts it via its own platform and TV screens in over 600 gyms in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Most of the programs are in the areas of sport, entertainment and travel and include advertising blocks from which Airtango earns money.
Airtango is therefore active in the digital out-of-home sector, i.e. where people consume advertising on screens outside their own four walls. The company from Cralsheim has now received 1.2 million euros in a financing round. The mezzanine program of the state of Baden-Württemberg, which is financed by the Landesbank, contributed the largest share. The remaining 400,000 euros are a capital increase from other existing investors.
Airtango intends to use the funds primarily to increase staff in the areas of marketing and technology. The start-up, which has been in existence since 2016, also wants to expand its offering to other areas.
