"Carl and Carla" puts the thousandth vehicle into operation
The start-up aims to be represented in 40 cities by 2025. That's eight more than before.
The minibus rental company Carl und Carla has put its thousandth vehicle into operation, as reported by Sachsen Fernsehen. The start-up plans to offer its minibuses in all 40 German cities with more than 200,000 inhabitants by 2025. To date, the Dresden-based company has been represented in 32 German cities.
Bastian Thiere, Martin Wesner, Richard Vetter and Gregor Wendt founded Carl und Carla in 2013. The start-up offers three minibus models: The "Carl" van, the 9-seater minibus "Carla" and XL van "Carlos". Users can book the vehicles via the platform and collect them from a rental station in the city.
In the coming years, Carl und Carla would also like to expand electromobility. Tests are currently underway for an "E-Carl". However, the electrically powered minibus is not yet available throughout Germany and the charging infrastructure is still lacking.
