Circula expands to Spain

The Berlin start-up opens an office in Barcelona and cooperates with Travelperk.
Spanish companies can now also access the software from Berlin start-up Circula. The company currently has offices in Berlin, Leipzig and Düsseldorf. Now it is adding a location in Barcelona. Locally, Circula is cooperating with Travelperk, a travel management platform and, according to the company, the market leader for business travel in Spain. This collaboration gives the start-up direct access to an existing network.
Circula offers a platform that enables companies to better manage their employee expenses. This relates in particular to expenses, travel costs and employee benefits. The company was founded in 2017 by Nikolai Skatchkov and Roman Leicht to reduce bureaucratic hurdles in companies and bundle some of the administration in an app. According to the start-up, it now reaches around 100,000 employees and more than 1,200 companies internationally, including Securitas, About You and Urban Sports Club, which is already managed from Spain.
The company grew by around 250 percent last year and now sees potential for further growth in the Spanish market. In order to adapt to local conditions, Circula is changing its offering slightly. "Spanish employees are demanding digital processes in everyday office life and appreciation from their employers," says CEO and co-founder Nicolai Skatchkov. "We have recognized this demand for employee benefits and integrated it into our holistic employee finance app."
