Circulee goes to the start
Janina Gerhardt | 06.05.2022The start-up offers used laptops, smartphones, monitors and tablets for businesses.
The start-up Circulee launches its operations today. The company offers used IT hardware for sale. "Because with every PC, laptop, monitor and smartphone, the environmental impact of CO2 emissions and electronic waste increases," Circulee says. A new monitor would produce 420 kilograms of CO2 in manufacturing. That would be equivalent to three domestic flights. By buying used equipment, companies would be able to improve their carbon footprint.
To set itself apart from other providers, the start-up not only wants to offer used equipment, but also act as a consultant to its customers. To that end, Circulee has built a so-called cockpit that allows customers to create support requests, manage invoices and track emissions savings.
"We believe that companies and organizations have a responsibility to be more sustainable. And that Green IT can make a simple but effective contribution to this," says Thomas Gros, CEO and co-founder of Circulee. He founded the start-up together with David Block and Fozy Khoury in 2021. According to the company, it has more than 40 customers. In the future, the founders plan to offer additional services such as subscription models and insurance for devices.
