Tesla knocks Volkswagen off its throne

Elon Musk's company recently sold the Model Y more often than Volkswagen sold its Golf. This puts the e-car in the lead once again.

Tesla's Model Y was the best-selling car in Europe in November 2022. That's according to new figures reported by Automotive News Europe and T3N. As a result, Elon Musk's company once again displaced Volkswagen from the top spot, with the best Volkswagen even landing in only eighth place on the European list.

Automotive house Jato ranked Tesla No. 1 on the list, followed by Dacia, Toyota and Fiat. In the all-electric cars, Tesla is logically also ahead, with second place also going to Tesla with the Model 3. Only then do two VW vehicles from the ID series follow.

The Tesla Model Y had already taken a top spot in September. At that time, the e-car was the best-selling car in Europe with 10,000 newly registered cars. Here, too, Tesla has already displaced Volkswagen, but had to cope with a severe decline in October. Due to delivery problems, Tesla slipped out of almost all rankings at that time.
