Davis secures USD 5.5 million for AI-powered real estate development

The PropTech startup Davis has closed a pre-seed financing round of 5.5 million US dollars. The round is led by Heartcore Capital and Balderton Capital. Other investors include Yellow, Evantic, Entrepreneur First and P&P. Numerous business angels are also participating, including members of the founding teams of Hugging Face, Supabase and Cleo.

Davis intends to use the fresh capital to drastically accelerate the early phase of real estate development - from several months to just a few days.

Slow processes in a huge industry

With an estimated volume of around 400 trillion US dollars, the real estate industry is the largest asset class in the world. Nevertheless, processes in early project development are often time-consuming and fragmented.

Feasibility studies, site analyses, regulatory reviews and architectural designs are usually prepared by different players. This process can drag on for weeks or months.

AI replaces complex coordination processes

Instead of providing software tools, Davis takes over entire work steps. With the help of AI and internal expertise, Davis creates feasibility analyses, financial models and architectural designs, among other things.

The result is an integrated process that runs much faster and requires less coordination. Architects in the company also check and refine the results.

Proprietary technology for architectural planning

At the heart of this is a specially developed AI technology that generates buildings as structured systems of rooms, walls and layouts. Unlike traditional image generators, this approach takes real structural and regulatory requirements into account during the generation process.

With "Gaudi-1", the start-up is also presenting its first proprietary model. According to the company, this has already achieved top scores in benchmarks for automated floor plan and building planning.

Davis was founded by Mehdi Rais and Amine Chraibi. While Chraibi has a background in AI research, Rais brings practical insights from the architecture industry. The team comes from the fields of artificial intelligence, real estate and architecture.

New speed for urban development

In the long term, Davis wants to change the way cities are planned and built. The combination of AI and human expertise should significantly speed up complex decision-making processes without compromising on quality.
