The non-profit association GFTT had the trophy in prospect for the second time. There are now winners in five categories.

For the second time, the Society for the Promotion of Research Transfer (GFFT) has awarded the "German Startup Cup". In a total of five categories, start-ups were able to convince both the jury and the audience. The association awarded the best tech start-ups in the categories logistics, fintech, organizational intelligence, industry 4.0 and cybersecurity. Start-ups that were founded in 2015 or later and whose focus is on innovative technology in the individual competition fields were eligible to apply.

Similar to a sports competition, GFFT held the competition over several rounds. In each, the startups had to pass a seven-minute pitch and a Q&A session by experts. In each category, the association carried out a total of four rounds with four start-ups each. Of these 16 companies, four ended up making it to the semifinals and two to the finals for each category. Spectators were then able to watch the final in a livestream.

This year's winners were

  • Logistics category: InstaFreight GmbH, represented by Co-Founder and Managing Director Maximilian Schaefer.
  • Category FinTech: TraFinScout GmbH, represented by Managing Director Eckhard Creutzburg
  • Category Organizational Intelligence: evAI Intelligence GmbH, represented by Managing Director Steffen Konrath
  • Category Industry 4.0: FORMHAND Automation GmbH, represented by Managing Director Christian Löchte
  • Category Cybersecurity: DeepSign GbR, represented by Nils Vossebein
