Former Metro boss founds start-up consulting firm

Olaf Koch, the ex-CEO of Metro, has a new side job. He is founding a strategy and investment consultancy.
Olaf Koch doesn't take much time off. He left the executive floor of the Metro Group at the end of the year and is now founding a strategy and investment consultancy for young companies. Koch's newly founded company is called Monrepos Advisers. This is reported by Wirtschaftswoche. Depending on the start-up, Koch will act as an investor, business angel or in another form.
"This will certainly not be my main activity, but I already found working with founders at Metro extremely exciting," Koch told Wirtschaftswoche. With Monrepos Advisers, however, he will not be supporting any business models from the catering or wholesale sectors. The name of his consultancy refers to Monrepos Palace in Ludwigsburg, where he founded his first company in 1995.
Until a successor for Koch is found, Metro will now be managed jointly by the two board members Christian Baier and Rafael Gasset.
