eMabler Secures €5.5 Million in Series A Funding
The Finnish clean tech and mobility startup eMabler has closed a Series A funding round worth 5.5 million euros. The round is led by Greencode Ventures. Other investors include Swiss Post Ventures, Rethink Ventures, and Helkama Kiinteistöt. The financing is supplemented by public innovation programs from Finland and the European Union.
With the fresh capital, the company plans to enter key European markets such as Germany and the UK, as well as further develop its software platform for smart and grid-friendly charging.
From charging point to integrated customer experience
While many providers in the European market rely on standalone charging apps, eMabler takes a different approach. The platform enables companies to integrate charging services directly into existing applications, customer programs, and digital services.
As a result, e-mobility is not perceived as a separate offering, but as an integral part of existing customer experiences. The company’s customers include the Finnish retail group S Group, the energy company Neste, and parking operators AimoPark, TimePark, and EasyPark.
A particularly successful example is the charging infrastructure of ABC Charging, which is operated by S Group. By integrating the service into its own customer loyalty program and existing app, the company says it has secured a market share of more than 50 percent in the Finnish public charging market.
Electric Cars as Part of the Energy System
In addition to expanding the charging infrastructure, eMabler is increasingly focusing on so-called grid-aware charging solutions. These enable charging processes to be intelligently adapted to electricity prices and grid conditions.
In light of increasing volatility in the energy markets, the company sees this as a key lever for energy suppliers and charging infrastructure operators. Instead of merely selling electricity, providers will be able to dynamically control charging times in the future, thereby reducing costs, improving margins, and providing additional flexibility for the power grid.
Expansion into Germany and the UK
With this funding, eMabler aims to significantly expand its presence outside the Nordic countries. The focus is particularly on Germany and the UK, two of Europe’s largest markets for electric mobility.
CEO and co-founder Juha Stenberg sees the future of charging not in isolated applications, but in seamless integration into existing digital ecosystems.
Software is becoming a key competitive factor
For investors, eMabler’s strength lies primarily in its open platform architecture. As hardware becomes increasingly standardized, the software layer is likely to determine which providers prevail in the European market in the future.
With its hardware-agnostic approach and experience in the Nordic markets, eMabler is positioning itself as an infrastructure partner for companies that view electric mobility as part of their customer and energy strategy. The Series A funding is now intended to enable the next phase of growth and lay the groundwork for a broader European market presence.
