EU antitrust authority searches Delivery Hero headquarters

In an investigation into suspected cartel formation, the European Commission has scrutinized the offices of Delivery Hero and Glovo. Both companies confirmed this.
The European Commission's Directorate-General for Competition is investigating several online food delivery companies on suspicion of cartel formation and anti-competitive behavior. There are indications that the delivery services colluded on how to divide up national markets, it said. There have also been searches at Delivery Hero in Berlin, according to reports by Dpa.
Just a few days ago, Delivery Hero acquired a majority stake in Glovo. The German publicly traded company had already announced the move in December of last year. Previously, Delivery Hero held 44 percent of the Spanish provider. According to information from the Tagesspiegel , there were also searches at Glovo's offices.
It is not known whether and which other delivery services are affected. Both Delivery Hero and Glovo said they were cooperating with the authorities.
