Flies at Lilium and Customcells

Customcells will supply the battery cells for the Lilium Jets. The market launch is planned for 2024.
Customcells will be the main supplier of battery cells for Lilium. The batteries will be manufactured at the company's plant in Tuebingen, Germany. The two companies announced.
"With their extensive experience in the development and production of custom lithium-ion batteries, Customcells is the ideal partner to manufacture the aerospace-grade battery cells for our jet," said Daniel Wiegand, co-founder and CEO of Lilium. The jets are scheduled to launch in 2024. Seven people can be seated in one vehicle. First, the air taxis will fly in Germany and Florida.
Both startups have had a week of good news: Lilium secured a major order from Brazil. The airline Azul ordered 220 flight taxis. Lilium plans to start delivering in 2025. Customcells announced the formation of a joint venture with Porsche. The start-up from Itzehoe is also to supply batteries for the car manufacturer from Stuttgart in the future. In addition to Porsche, Munich-based VC Vsquared Ventures and Alex Kudlich's 468 Capital also participated. Allegedly, a double-digit million amount flowed into the battery start-up.
