Flixbus founder invests in logistics start-up Hive

The start-up from Berlin will receive a total of 1.6 million euros.
Hive has raised a total of €1.6 million in a pre-seed funding round. The money comes from existing investor Picus Capital, as well as the founders of Flixbus and Forto, who co-invested with Lesara founder Roman Kirsch and Sebastian Merkhoffer of Fitvia. Picus Capital became an investor in Hive back in August.
The startup only launched in July 2020 and was founded by Oskar Ziegler, Franz Purucker and Leonard von Kleist. Hive takes care of shipping logistics for young e-commerce companies and wants to offer them an alternative to Amazon. Hive also handles returns. Among its customers is Happy Glam, manufacturer of sustainable nail polish. By the end of the year, 150 brands are expected to use the logistics service. Hive currently employs 27 people.
