Footprint.Club takes over Frischepost

Nothing was disclosed about the purchase price. Michel Stumpe's e-commerce conglomerate plans to swallow more food startups in the coming months.

Berlin-based Footprint.Club is acquiring Frischepost, a Hamburg-based delivery service for regional food producers, for an undisclosed sum.

According to a press release, Frischepost co-founder Eva Neugebauer will assume sole management of the company effective immediately. Co-founder Juliane Willing and interim CEO Tom Mayer will serve as new owners and advisors to the company. Around €4 million has been invested in Frischepost by BonVenture, Sunrise Capital and oatmeal manufacturer Peter Kölln in recent years in the company, which has 130 employees.

Frischepost was founded in 2015 by Neugebauer and Willing and is committed to sustainability and freshness. The company describes itself as an online farm store selling seasonal vegetables, fruit, meat and baked goods, dairy products, juices, wine and other products from producers directly in the surrounding area.

Footprint.Club, whose founders are Jens Gützkow, Michel Stumpe and Jens-Uwe Heinrich, is an e-commerce company that plans to acquire more e-food companies in the coming months. Michel Stumpe, CEO of Footprint.Club, wants to pool the companies' resources in order to save costs, according to a statement. Earlier this year, Footprint.Club founded another regional food delivery service called Allesvom.Land.
