GINSUM is the name of a new network for German-Israeli cooperation. The project is funded by the German government

.

ELNET, an association that works to strengthen German-Israeli relations, has established a network for cooperation between companies in the two countries. The network is called the "German Israeli Network of Startups & Mittelstand", or GINSUM for short. The Ministry of Economics is funding the initiative for two years.

GINSUM will offer exchange formats between Israeli startups and German SMEs, produce its own studies and support the settlement of startups from Israel in Germany. Specifically, it wants to address the three obstacles of a study by the Bertelsmann Foundation. These are the lack of market access, a lack of transparency about relevant market players, and a lack of internal resources in the search for partners.

"Over 6,000 innovative Israeli startups offer extensive opportunities, especially in the context of GreenTech as well as Safe and Smart City," says GINSUM initiator Carsten Ovens, who has been advocating for startups for some time. "Both countries can benefit from closer cooperation."
