Laschet and Spahn call for more start-up funding

Shortly before the election for the CDU chairmanship, candidate Armin Laschet and his supporter Jens Spahn send out an impulse paper to the party. It is primarily about a modernization push for Germany.
In a ten-point paper, the candidate for the CDU chairmanship Armin Laschet and his supporter Jens Spahn insist on a modernization push for Germany. The paper was sent to the CDU district chairmen, the members of the state and federal parliaments and the CDU members of the European Parliament. NTV.de quotes from the email.
Among other things, it states that Germany needs a digital ministry "that deserves its name". By 2030, Germany should have "the most modern digital infrastructure". Start-ups should receive more state support, including through better incentives for venture capital. Structurally weak regions are to be supported through simplified approval procedures and lower tax rates. Laschet and Spahn promise the economy a "moratorium on burdens".
On January 16, the CDU party conference will decide on the successor to Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer as CDU chairwoman. In addition to Laschet, Norbert Röttgen and Friedrich Merz are running as promising candidates. A close result is expected. The majority of delegates are among the recipients of Laschet and Spahn's mail.
