The Munich-based startup Leevi Health is developing "Lilio", a smart bracelet with tiny sensors that monitor babies' key health indicators and send them directly to their parents' cell phones.

Munich - The startup Leevi Health has successfully completed a seed financing round that raised 2.2 million euros. The investment will be used to launch the innovative product "Lilio" on the market. The bracelet promises parents significant insights into the health of their babies.

The seed financing round was led by emma Ventures and was oversubscribed despite the difficult market environment. In addition to well-known investors such as the founders of the Toniebox and KinTower Ventures, well-known business angels such as the founders of bestsmile, Deinhandy.de and Kitchen Stories are also on board.

Baby wearables

New parents devote an average of five hours a day to looking after their children's health. This is where "Lilio" comes in: The smart bracelet has tiny sensors that continuously monitor the baby's well-being indicators and transmit this data directly to the parents' cell phones. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the bracelet can be worn day and night without restricting the baby's freedom of movement. It thus opens up a new segment for baby wearables.

The idea for 'Lilio' arose from our own need to better monitor and understand the long-term health of our newborn children.

Dr. Nadine Wunderlich, Co-Founder of Leevi Health

The bracelet not only allows parents to track their baby's well-being, but also notifies them early on of any deviations from normal patterns, monitored by an AI algorithm. This continuous recording of values such as heart rate and oxygen saturation also facilitates visits to the pediatrician and enables long-term health monitoring of the child.

The outstanding and highly motivated founding couple has convinced us that they will successfully meet the challenge of bringing an innovative lifestyle wearable for babies to market

Katja Baur, Co-Founder of emma Ventures

Björn Wunderlich, co-founder of Leevi Health, explains that the development of such a small sensor module enables the introduction of a comfortable wearable for babies. The technology promises new insights into the health of children of all ages. The investment in Leevi Health will not only fulfill a real need for parents, but also make a significant contribution to preventive healthcare for babies and young children. The market launch of the product is therefore eagerly awaited. The investors are full of confidence in the founding couple and the Leevi Health team.
