With 4 million euros in seed funding: roclub sets new standards for remote medical technology and improves access to healthcare

Berlin, April 25, 2024 - Berlin-based startup roclub has closed a seed financing round of 4 million euros to further develop its teleoperation platform. This platform makes it possible to operate medical devices from anywhere in the world.

The investment is led by early-stage investors such as Speedinvest and FJ Labs as well as better ventures and strategic business angels. The fresh capital will be used to drive the company's geographic expansion and develop the marketplace for remote services.

MRI & CT scanner via remote control

roclub addresses the growing shortage of medical technology professionals in Europe and the USA. Through their platform, they want to set a new standard for the operation of medical devices and ensure better access to healthcare for patients. Currently, the platform enables the connection of MRI and CT scanners, which enables a variety of use cases such as remote scanning, remote support or remote education.

We are pioneering a platform that has the potential to revolutionize the operation of medical technology.

André Glardon, Co-founder and Managing Director roclub

The global ageing of the population is leading to a dramatic shortage of personnel in the healthcare sector. It is estimated that there will be a shortage of ten million workers by 2030. In this situation, teleoperation could offer a solution. roclub's platform makes it possible to operate medical devices and carry out examinations regardless of time and place.

André Glardon, co-founder and CEO of roclub, emphasizes the company's vision: to create better access to healthcare for patients and enable more flexible working models for medical-technical professionals.

Investors are optimistic

Investors are optimistic about roclub's potential. Andrea Zitna of Speedinvest emphasizes the importance of innovative solutions for the healthcare sector and the confidence in roclub's platform. Jeff Weinstein from FJ Labs emphasizes the concept of a marketplace for remote services and sees great potential in it. Tina Dreimann from better ventures praises roclub's contribution to improving the healthcare system and emphasizes the importance of this financing round for scaling the company.
