IBB Ventures and several business angels are investing a seven-figure sum in Lernapp Jurafuchs. The Berlin-based start-up apparently increased its turnover fivefold last year.

Edtechs are one of the winners of the pandemic. This includes the Jurafuchs app, which has been on the market since 2018 and helps students at law faculties via microlearning. The Berlin start-up has now raised a seven-figure sum. The Berlin investment bank IBB Ventures and several business angels such as Stephanie Hundertmark, a partner at a major law firm, are involved: "The digital revolution in legal training is only just beginning and digital learning will soon be standard," Hundertmark told Wirtschaftswoche.

Jurafuchs says it is benefiting above all from learning at home: sales increased fivefold in 2020. According to the app, it has 140,000 users. With microlearning, the learning material is broken down into small chunks, with each unit having a maximum of 280 characters. Jurafuchs also works with gamification to motivate students. The model for this concept was the learning app for languages Babbel, whose CTO Thomas Holl is involved in Jurafuchs as a strategic advisor.
