Mimi Hearing Technologies receives 25 million US dollars

The start-up wants to use the money from the financing round to build the world's largest platform for ear wellness.
Berlin-based start-up Mimi Hearing Technologies claims to be the world's leading provider of software for hearing wellness and audio personalization. The company has now raised 25 million US dollars from a Series B financing round. The money comes from investor MIG Capital, two undisclosed family businesses and Helmut Jeggle's investment company, Salvia. Existing investors were also involved.
Mimi Hearing Technologies has developed a hearing enhancement technology that it licenses to B2B customers such as manufacturers of electronic devices, streaming providers and hearing aid manufacturers. For example, the technology can be found in headphones from Skullcandy or devices from Beyerdynamic or Philips. Mimi Hearing Technologies now intends to invest the new funds in the expansion of a technology platform that is set to become the world's largest for the well-being of the ear. Money will also be invested in marketing and sales activities in the USA and Asia. The company also plans to expand its product offering in its existing device categories, such as headphones and TV displays, and to move into additional signal processing and audio platforms, such as smartphones.
"We are excited to support Mimi in realizing its goal of building a breakthrough platform for hearing health," said Boris Bernstein, Partner at MIG Capital. Helmut Jeggle, founder of Salvia, is also confident in his investment: "Mimi's technology and expansion plans have positioned the company to become an international standard bearer for hearing wellness and sound personalization, and we are excited to support them in realizing this vision."
Mimi Hearing Technologies was founded in Berlin in 2014 by CEO Philipp Skribanowitz and Chief Scientist Nicholas Clark. The company develops digital hearing tests and sound personalization technologies based on users' hearing ability.
