Online retailer Bobbie gets money from construction industry

The building materials start-up now wants to intensify its cooperation with key players in the sector. Already, 200 manufacturers are among its partners.
Digital building materials retailer Bobbie has announced a new seven-figure financing round. The money comes mainly from the construction industry itself. "This financing is to be seen as a turning point and a strong sign from customers to finally bring the building materials trade into the digital age," explained Alexander Gran, co-founder of Bobbie.
The money comes from BAMAKA AG, the largest purchasing company in the German construction industry, as well as from the Swiss building materials dealer HG Commerciale and the construction IT company BRZ. Bobbie has already been working with BAMAKA for several years, and now the cooperation will be deepened, as both sides explained.
At Bobbie, craftsmen, building contractors and end customers can purchase building materials digitally. Bobbie also supplies construction sites across Germany with the purchases. The company said it has agreed partnerships with a total of 200 manufacturers. With the new capital, the start-up, which was founded in 2017 and is based in Aachen and Munich, and its partners want to further advance the digitalization of the construction industry.
